Digital Strategy Director

The Digital Strategy Director works with the strategy team and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer to provide business-driven counsel to clients at the brand, digital and social level within the context of the strategy discipline. The Digital Strategy Director is ultimately responsible for developing and executing digital & social media strategies to drive awareness, engagement, and traffic that align with overarching brand strategies. This includes definition of how digital energizes brand positioning and overall communications goals as well as determining the digital and social platforms to be leveraged and the role for each within the communications ecosystem. Once the strategy is established it is the Senior Digital Strategist’s responsibility to lead any e-commerce and content strategy required to bring the platform strategy to life, develop digital creative briefs (some in partnership with brand planners), and work with team leads to maintain integrity of the strategy through the creative process.

This position is client-facing and requires strong client presentation skills.

Responsibilities
Partner with the brand planning team to derive insights from research and identify opportunities for our clients to meet and exceed their competition
Work closely with the BU marketing heads to design measurement, targeting, testing, and optimization mechanisms to evaluate and drive the success of campaigns
Help populate digital/social customer profiles and personas; identify unmet needs, hypothesize key customer problems/digital solutions
Participate in client workshops, presentations, and other working sessions as required.
Develop accurate and insightful conclusions from research data to construct well-informed digital and social creative briefs and valuable direction to the client.
Develop digital, mobile, e-commerce & social marketing strategies that deliver on clients’ KPIs and business objectives
Produce high level communications plans / channel strategies and ideate with creative to conceive solutions for each channel
Define impactful content strategies for client’s digital channels
Work with activation teams (TV, Audio, Print, OOH, Digital) to socialize all media
Collaborate effectively with colleagues from a range of disciplines including Strategy, Media, Creative, & Account Management
Monitor trends in content marketing and digital and social media
Educate and support client and internal teams on social and marketing channel value, best practices and ongoing evolution implications
Lead the client with a vision for how social media should evolve
Create clear, compelling content for client presentations, POVs, and other deliverables

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in digital or social strategy
A proven track record in developing digital, mobile, website, e-commerce and social strategic plans that benefit the client
Expertise in Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, Vine, LinkedIn, etc.) and how each platform is used by marketers
Demonstrated understanding of paid, earned and owned media integration
Experience participating from a strategic perspective through a website development
The ability to strategize an engaging social/digital experience, utilizing multiple platforms to deliver and engage a compelling brand story
Experience developing digital creative briefs, business requirements, and strategic frameworks for digital engagements
Research/analysis skills including online listening, competitive/marketplace auditing, trend analyses
Passion for and knowledge of current and emerging technologies
Entrepreneurial spirit and instinct for creative problem-solving
Confident and compelling communicator, presenter and writer
The ability to make complex subjects understandable
Experience in organizing the strategy to arrive at digital brand guidelines is a plus
